You can joke about this slow filler but, it kills my back taking so long to put fuel in. I thought there was an anti theft device in the tank but, no it is made that way. However a little up date, now done 850 kilometres which I believe is just over 300 hundred miles( this is from last Wednesday when I got it). Loosening up nicely and running well. Keeping to 50 MPH and now and again a little more. I think I will let the dealer do the first service at 1000km. I have not let a dealer service any bike I have had for over twenty years, but, if anything is going to go wrong it is likely to be in the first year, so keeping the warranty in place might be wise.

It's not an issue normally but with a flux capacitor you need to spot on 140.8kph

Kph to mph.....halve it and add a quarter, not exact but nigh on. Eg 100kph =50+12.5=62.5mph

I phoned dealer to book in for first service. Waited two hours for them to phone back, never did.Contacted another SYM dealer they say first service takes about two hours and costs one hundred and twenty five pounds. I know they have to make a profit but, it takes 1.2 ltrs in the engine and 160cc in the final drive. Everything else is inspection.I am inclined to do what I did with my new Silver wing, I did the first service at 600 mls, and every service since, and am now at 37600 mls. The bike itself is running fine and breaking in very well.

Indeed bud, service work on new vehicles does appear to be a 'licence to print money' especially when they use the 'doing it yourself will invalidate the warrany' clause

I`d of hoped the 1st service should be free, as you paid a decent price for the bike.
Do any manufacturers do that ? out of interest.
Does seem a bit serious for what they do.
A relative of mine had one done that invloved a casing part coming off to clean the gauze filter and absolutely no way they had taken it off at all, when he then did that bit himself.
It looked as if they had just put a few grubby finger marks on the bike. A 250cc, and yes we are going well back here 80`s.
Best Mark.
