Best 125cc maxi?
Best 125cc maxi?
Hi, I'm looking for my first maxi - considering the Suzuki bergman, Honda s-wing or Piaggio Xevo. Any advice or others to recommend? Important to me are decent BHP, high seat height as I'm tall, good fuel consumption and storage. Thanks.

Well, I think you are describing the S-wing (or Forza 125) there! Don't know much about the Xevo, but the 125 Burger has a low seat and certainly doesn't have the full 15bhp of the S-wing (decent storage though).
Others worth considering include the Yamaha Xmax and Peugeot CityStar - the latter has the full 15bhp and, I think, good storage space.
The SH is very small and cramped, and storage is a bit limited on new models (and pathetic on older ones).

Avoid x'evo. Piaggio are notoriously unreliable at times.
S Wing will last longer.

larks
Are we talking 125cc here.
I agree with mottza swerve Italian, burgman has a widec seat that may help your height issue but for longevity S- wing.
SteveW had one (RIP) loved it and he was no hobbit

I vote S-Wing
Nobody told it it’s only a 125.
Bulletproof build quality, the seat is all-day comfy and a great engine. Good storage and weather protection.
Good top speed and will maintain it on all but the worst hills/winds. Sure footed handling.
Mostly designed and built in Spain specifically for the European market and a bit of extra sophistication.
They are more expensive to buy than most though - they hold their price

Re: Best 125cc maxi?
Peugeot Satelis 125 Executive.
Full fat 125cc engine (maximum legal hp), ABS, integrated Abus chain, remote control boot opening, storage long enough for badminton racquets, excellent lights, large & foldable mirrors, lots of road presence, clear instruments, pull-out rain cover for the seat. Many parts shared with Piaggios, the rest are good quality Peugeot's own. Made in France, unlike lesser Pugs which are often sourced from China or Taiwan and rebadged.
I had 3 250cc versions and ran all of them from new to well over 20k miles.
First available 2002 and the Mk.2 is still on sale now with more modern tech, so there's one for every budget.
If you feel daring, search out a rare 125 compressor. Sacrifices boot space for a supercharger. Easily switchable from 15hp to 20hp but has the torque of a 250cc either way.

What's your budget?
If you're after a budget option and don't necessarily want the latest & greatest then another vote for SH125i.
