BMW 400X

Post by MrGrumpy »

The BMW 400 scoot is being launched at the moment. Initial impressions from Visordown

£7k?????? Makes a Tmax seem a bargain!!! Plus an extra £500 for the 'Connectivity' Dash. I love her comment on the SatNav part of the latter - 'apart from a couple of wrong turns, it works pretty well'. Since the whole point of a SatNav is to direct you, one wonders exactly what else it would have to do badly to be described as rubbish!!

Wonder if one of the wrong turns takes you down a railway line, a river, or over a cliff.

The opposition (eg Burger, Xmax) is around £6k so once the "BMW premium" is added, I guess £7k is about right.

Ugly beast, though.

If I were going beserk and spending loads of dosh on a scooter, I'd rather head towards the AK550 than this. At least you can look at it without squinting.

I would imagine they won't sell many, I can't say I've ever seen a BMW scooter on the road tbh.

The occasional C600/650 can be seen in central London. Quite unremarkable looking in the flesh, so easy to miss. What I do see though, albeit rarely, are BWC C1. You can't miss them...

You're right - I hadn't noticed quite how awful the front end is. This MCN story shows the full horror of it...
