Advice has this been done ???

Post by jaffa »

I’d like to remove rear mudguard, and put on a motorcycle tail tidy, and put on a hugger as replacements .
Change grips and wing mirrors to bar end mirrors .
Have seat redesigned in some way .
Any help to videos pictures or links to to sites to make these things possible or similar been done much appreciated .

Welcome jaffa, we really need to know what bike you have, then we can try and help you. ;)

EDIT: ok so just checked your intro and it's a Silverwing. Nice bikes! Aside from the grips and mirrors, I don't think anyone I know has done what you are proposing and I've not seen any videos or links to anything like that. But, I'm not a Silverwing owner and someone else on here may be able to help. I think what you are proposing will be a bit more difficult than you might think due to the way the bike is constructed.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 54 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

He's got a SiverWing bud.

Grips & bar end mirrors are easy, but WTF is a 'tail tidy' ?????????

Hugger would be 'interesting' as one side is swing arm & the other is CVT casing.

Not seen anything like it on UK or US SilverWing forums bud, best bet would be to do a search of the Japanese custom scooter scene, although they tend to over-radicalise their machines.

But it allows a cooling stream of water up your back and onto your acme racer hunchback.
More seriously tail tidying looks great on show bikes and racers but is silly idea on a bike you actually intend to ride in anything except dry conditions.

I think you bought the wrong bike mate ,if, you want to change all that stuff, why buy a Silverwing in the first place?

scooter customising is massive in Asia, the honda cub custom started over there and its huge now over here, thats why cub prices are on the up.
I quite like it, I like quirky. 8-)
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.

If you get the Asian name for your scooter then Google is your friend.

So the Suzuki fl125 address in Asia was known as the 'shogun' the mods where limitless (including s girlie shopping basket)

I think SteveW once posted a picture of a naked silver wing & I've often considered a rat scooter rather than a rat bike.

Custom scoots are big in Asia & pimped Burgs stateside (wait for Meldrew to comment :o )so start with you tube but tbing with custom is it's your vision & taste, set the trend don't follow the sheep.

I personally like the small frame vespa with the bridge tank from the seat to yoke.

Again SteveW just added a second fuel tank to his C90 and IMO was the nuts.

Bobber a C90 but for the love of god please do it to an old shitter not a classic
