Anlas Tyres ? 120/80 14

Post by XP500FUN »

Anyone tried these tyres at all please.

They get a good rating I think looking at reviews etc.

Looking as I wanted to put a city grip on the front of my Silverwing, but they only do a 120/70 14 which I suppose you could put on.

I have found like I`ve read others have that the Michelin SC Pure sort of follows the groves etc badly, it does and can often feel very wierd.

So after a good grippy and soft so it absorbs bumps front tyre.

I always found on the Conti Go`s, a good handfull of front brake and they can let go all too easily.

Never had that on the SC pures but they do run strangely.

Out of interest is the Bridgeestone sc1 usual crossply, any good ?

Thanks Mark.

Just for interest, but it is on thier site.

I have found the Michelin pr4s to be brilliant in all conditions, however saying that the last set of tyres I had to get the new Pirelli diablo rosso as getting a front for mine in matched pairs is often a chore . Well the Pirelli s have proved to be a massive step forward from there predecessors even in the wet .There is a Angel version for scooters that gives some more size variations.Regarding the anlas I have only ever heard good things about them .

Thanks re the Anlas thoughts, and I`ve set the kind link to all 14`s in that size.

I think I am leaning towards a hoop, though I think they can square off sometimes.

Best Mark.

I had the wintergrip 2 for my benelli but sold them as sold bike so not fitted but other guys like them on the groms and tnt's etc, videos on youtube of scooters riding in snow and they seem fine.

Never heard of them! I may be cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if a test a manufacturer puts on their own website is quite positive....

I'm looking at these as I've never heard of them. They do look worth a punt tbh.

I had a pair of them fitted on the SilverWing, nice tyre gripped well in wet. Not a good (rear) tyre for a lot of motorway use (rapid wear at speed) in my opinion, but brilliant for all other duties, from comparative wear I'd say it would be 3 rear's to a front, I'd happily use them again

Didn't realise how squared off mine was. Had both changed yesterday and bloody hell was the bike really tippy.

Has anypone put a120/70 14 on where its usually a 120/80 14 please.

I would really like to put a city grip on to try to tame the front end with the Hyperpro front springs on the back roads.

I was wondering about an on 63 strike but some not so great reviews.

Also tempted by the pirellis but tha last tijme I tried pirelli tyres you could literally see the rubber flying off.

That was abike you usually got around 6K out of as tyre and sturggled to get 1500 out of the pirelli and was on top of the tyre pressures.

A 120/70 14 is 84mm in height compared to a 80 at 96 so will loose abouit 12mm at the front, the speedo difference is negligable.

Anyone know which is softer, a Diablo or Diablo Rosso please.

Thanks Mark.
