I am honestly wondering if I should try a 650.
Might go for a test ride on one this week if I have time.
If I was sure once on the back roads it would be better than the silverwing not transmitting the bumps through I would go for one.
But the weight !! as would probably have to be a pre 2006 or so.

Re: Bought a Burgman 650!
I had a Silverwing before the Burgman 650,much lighter and easier to push around. The Burger is a bugger to push backwards especially when cold,I have a Harley that weighs lot more than the Burger but that is easier to move around in garage where I have to park up precisely to get em all in

Is there such a noticable difference then, I thought the Silverwing felt much heavier than the T max, but do find the Silverwing easier to move about when sat on it, though harder to get in and out of the garage.

Re: Bought a Burgman 650!
No...its awful on back roads IMHO - really rough & cumbersome. Its why I swapped mine for a Tmax mk3!
I should point out that this was a 2008 model - I don't know if they've improved things on the post 2013 model, if they've sorted the heaviness to push around issue at that time.
Mark...you know the answer, and it involves a certain Yamaha product beginning with 'T'!

If only I was a few inches taller, and not in disc and other boney trouble !!!
I do know the one begining with T !!!.
They are superb, I`m just knadgered and shortish.

Would have to be an earlier bike I think.
Still interested to hear a comparison of the 650 Burgman with a BMW 650.

Getting on for 6 years since the burg 650 was updated surely it's in the pipeline....shedding some of the 270+ kg should be the first priority!!!

That's what we said 6 years ago...and it took them 11 years to do any notable update, so don't hold your breath!charles1976 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 7:25 am Getting on for 6 years since the burg 650 was updated surely it's in the pipeline....shedding some of the 270+ kg should be the first priority!!!

Re: Bought a Burgman 650!
I'm not finding that at all with my 2013. It's not quite motorbike ride quality but it's damn close enough for me to not care. I'm loving mine, like riding an armchair around!
I have to push mine backwards to get it out of the garage/down drive and it's no problem. Bit stiffer than bike but not by much.
Re: Bought a Burgman 650!
Hi, I’m thinking along the lines of buying a Big Burg or Majesty after finishing paying for my current bike, I like bikes but I like maxi scoots more.
I can put up with not being nodded at, I like the practicality of a scooter, whilst still being able to have fun on 2 wheels.
