Not much of a diiference in performance really. Kymco is cheaper new but I reckon 2nd hand, would lose value quicker.

Hmmm..puzzled by his comment that the Tmax DX isn't available 'this year' but is on the Yamaha website. I'm sure that the DX owners on here will be interested to know their scoot isn't available. How does he get the fuel gauge 'flashing empty' after 100 miles?? Then still have 5 ltrs in the tank, when the reserve is 3 ltrs? I'm pretty poor in the fuel economy stakes and after 100 miles for me, the gauge is still reading half full (I'm getting a steady 57-58mpg at the moment, which is pretty good for me!).

That's because KYMCO did over 1,000 design changes to the exhaust to make it as close to perfect out of the box, but still legal per EU4 regs for emissions and noise.

I'm surprised noting Kymco's tie up with Kawasaki on the J300, that the AK550 wasn't branded a Kawasaki, and sold through Kawasaki dealerships.
I know it's only marketiing but I bet it would still sell more with Kwak branding and through Kwak dealers.

I agree, the product looks to be very competitive but it's no use if you can't actually buy one. Christ alone knows how that would affect second hand values but I'd guess the loss would be catastrophic. I like the look of the Kymco but it would need to be a lot less cash that the Yam to make it viable.

Alpha motorcycles are ending their sales contract with Kymco & every time I've been in to enquire been pushed toward better deals on Yam & Suzi but I think a lot of that is down to the premium marques dictating how floor space for sales is allocated.
Chelmsford City ended the deal some time ago.
I think Kymco in Essex will only be sold through small retailers which will tie in with moto gb lack of interest and supply

J and s have a demo say on the 12th with an ak550 I believe
