Re: A friend of mine is looking at this.
I rode one around Rhodes for a week last year.
Great little scooter with a quick version of the GY6 as its powerplant.
The hammer these little bikes get on the island and the fact that they keep going on very minimal maintenance is a good display of how well built they are.
Handles well and the one I had didn't struggle up the mountain roads even two up.

Re: A friend of mine is looking at this.
My Kymco 300 has been reliable and is solidly built. Spare parts are expensive but I haven't needed any in two years and I decided to use pattern filters of a trusted brand. I am very likely to buy another Kymco if I can find a good dealer.
Located on UK South Coast
SYM Joymax 125 and Honda CB300R. Previously Silence S01, Kymco AK550, Triumph Tiger 850, Triumph Street Twin etc...

Re: A friend of mine is looking at this.
The larger (300cc) Kymco seem well liked here though limited owners (more lack of dealer than customer choice)
BMW & Kwak have enough faith to let them be the base for their models
The 125cc market seems to be Kymcos bread & butter so in guessing they're doing something right.

Kawasaki J300 is just a rebadged Kymco Downtown. Kymco very popular in Spain.

Re: A friend of mine is looking at this.
Id check spares/dealers in Malta first, but its a good reliable scoot.
Go and have a look Terry, a good excuse to spend a day in Gozo.

To tell you the truth, its for our caretaker in the block where we live, he knows I'm a scooter rider and asked for my advice but as usual I'm a numpty when it come to technical shit.
