Going dark for a few days...

Post by Data »

Folks, not for the first time I'm going 'dark' ( I love that term, sounds MI5/6 important!). I've been experiencing network and computer issues for sometime so have decided to take the lot down and rebuild the network and rebuild my main computer with new everything inside. It'll be fast fast fast when done. I'm an avid computer builder and have been for the last 30 years or so (yes, they were invented then you cheeky buggers!) :o

Starfleet Command don't like it when this happens, neither do I but it has to be done. I have a steady supply of beer coming in so this job should take about 6 months!!! :o  Just joking...probably will take about 3 days as there is lots to do. I used to work quite a bit from home some days so my network is exstensive. I want to simplify it and take out some stuff that is no longer needed now I'm retired.

All my bits arrived yesterday from Scan Computers whom I have dealt with (amongst others) for years and years...so I've been in the study playing with my parts for ages now, doing the prep work, and it's going well. Just one more wall to take down and I'm ready to start... Just joking again!!!

Bye for now

Next time I post it will be on a lightspeed fast new computer...errr...I hope!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 54 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

I dunno about the rest of you, but I find that a £20 HP Mini (in pink) is more than sufficient computing power for this sort of thing.

Stuff computers, I'd rather spend the money on scooters.

A used Chromebook meets my computing needs which are few. I started with an Amstrad, including 3" disc drive! but never really progressed much. :)
Good luck re-tuning the dilithium crystals!
I wake up every morning with a smile upon my face,
My natural exuberance spills out all over the place!
