Hi all, as you know I have been posting lately about our issues with the SH300 and thanks to everyone who responded with advice and encouragement, but we feel we asking too much of it.

we have had many sleepless nights and done much soul searching because we love it so much but it doesn't fullfill our needs...... so it's sold, will be departing on saturday, as it's out of tax and insurance so good time to sell

So only pedal powered two wheels left!!

See my add in the for sale bit if you need an extra luggage bag

Sorry you've sold your SH Brian, maybe you'll find something that suits you better. I've put a bid in for your bag.

Morning, not sure you all need to be aware as most of you do trips alone? Seems not many partners are interested in going on trips, maybe because we are away a lot in the van and use the scoot all the time, having no car, is why Mrs snail is so supportive of our choice.

For seven years we had a innova 125 on the back of the van and used to ride the lanes to explore maybe 25 miles from the van, then we would move on to pastures new? After working on a campsite in Cornwall couple of summers ago, we reached the extent of the innova and were longing to go further, we decided despite needing a trailer we would get a bigger scooter, hence the SH, we were very happy with our new scoot, we went to IOW Scooter rally for the weekend and enjoyed it so much we started thinking we could do a few weekends on the scoot without the mothership, we also found you lot, and thought it would be good to join in with some meets, but unfortunately we have had premature wear issues due to being over weight which why I have been researching the market for a scoot with good payload which no one actually cares about, except me and usually can only get from the handbook!

So which is it going to be? With close to 200kg..... Suzuki Burgman 400, it's still not really enough for a full on camping trip for two people, but it is a good start?

Will we buy one? Been looking, locally and been down to Fowlers in Bristol (some good deals about) as our local chap didnt have a new one in stock to look at, myself and Mrs snail felt very comfy on it and I was surprised how low it was having only 29 inch leg it was flat footed easily, we are doing some sums and if favourable to us both, after all WE ARE AN EFFECTIVE TEAM! We will know by the end of today, have to iron out the details as been let down on SH sale, you know friend of a friend scenario!

The X-Max 400 could also be a good choice, due to having the long travel suspension.....

I've just brought 2007 burgman for long trips and camping you can get side racks for givi boxes or soft side panniers .

Not ridden the latest Burgman 400 I had a 2010 mod one for 4 years and about 19,000 miles
but going off that one I think for your use it would be getting near it's limits, it's coming winter
and it may be worth taking a bit more time working out what to buy, colder it gets more chance
of a good deal as well.
