I like the last gyro with the roof. Bet the aerofoil keeps the back wheels planted at speed!

Believe it or not there are lots of aftermarket parts to bling your Honda Gyro like this go-faster roof
They are everywhere and make a lot of sense in Japan where space is tight and the old town streets are really cramped - built for foot traffic.

The flexible section is based on the failed British BSA Arial 3 from the ‘70s that Honda licences and adapted.

There were lots of versions including a naked version called a “Road Fox” (or something very similar).
The cargo versions were the ones that really took off and you can buy all kinds of things to adapt them to suit a particular trade/business.

The Gyro X is the base model (the clean white one, previous page)

The Gyro Up has no front rack and a bigger rear flatbed (dirty white one in my pics)

Gyro Canopy is the one with the factory roof but you can buy aftermarket roofs for the other models. The Canopy also has beefed up brakes and tyres to deal with extra weight and a huge rear box.

There was one called the Stream which slightly Helix style bodywork and no cargo are passenger ability and a feeble looking one called Joy but they didn’t last long.

Gyros started out around 1980 and went on into the 2000’s so there are lots of year model differences.

And of course, they are bikes so you can race them :)

Nice thread Bluebottle! Thanks for posting.

Are you out in Japan for long?

There's a few of us wanting to have a quick meet up at the NEC bike show this year. It's 17th to the 25th of November. I reckon on going on the first Tuesday. Let us know if you can make it. I can only do Tuesday or Thursday of that weeks though. Always nice to put a face to names. Me or Harvey wil be posting in another thread about it soon. Appreciate you are still working though and that must take priority. ;)

I'm using the Townmate more these days and really enjoying it, so starting to consider one of those new cubs even if the price goes north of £3500.

Dave, I love the new Cub. MIght even consider it myself soon to run alongside the GTS300. I have had the C50, C90 and loved them too! Where's my logic? I just don't have any!

Yamaha Maxam/Morphous... I've wanted one of those since I first saw one at the Helix's 25th birthday celebrations in Marl, 2011.

And I would definitely roll the Fusion with a roof! 8-)

Over the years the Japanese domestic market got so many machines that we could only dream of.
