Honda Pricing

Post by Argyll »

An SH125 costs 70% of it's bigger brother, the SH300. However, the Forza 125 costs 92% of the Forza 300. Just struck me as odd.

Most of the Forza 125 is exactly the same as the 300, that's why.

Yes, but doesn't that also apply to the SH?

I gave up several years ago with Honda pricing, when I was riding Adventure bikes, they have the CB500x at £5959, the NC750X at £6879 and then the VFR800X at £11299 and the Crossdresser1200 at £13199. Then for some bizarre reason they decided to (re)make an Africa Twin 1000 at £11575, which just makes the VFR800X look stupidly priced ( and they probably don't sell any). Surely someone in their marketing department can see that there is a gap in the adventure bike line up at around the 8 grand mark. Their Africa Twin, which I see loads of, has presumably just taken all the sales from the VFR800X & the crosstourer. Marketing madness. So I bought a Vstrom XT with a load of extras and it was a damned good bike....

Come on Honda, try and see your prices from the customers perspective and not just make random bikes and sell them at illogical prices (like the new supercub which is totally out of kilter with the rest of the scooter range....!!)
