Of course the older BMW indicator switch system where you 'sounded the horn to cancel the indicator' was an endless source of amusement...

I've only ever had one bike with bleeping indicators. A Peugeot Elyseo 125 in 2000-2003. I found it useful, and I wish all bikes had them. The number of times I have looked down to find I have left my indicators on.
