Only one I'd buy new is 125 as they do get used full throttle most of the time .Also I'd avoid London used scooters unless knew the owner lol

I'm mostly for electric, no exhaust pipe to rust/be removed for tyre change/brake pads etc. No oils, no spark plug, no valve check, no fuel.
I could be cheeky and charge the battery up at work so literally zero 'fuel' costs. Literally just tyres, brake pads, brake fluid.

But there are negatives that still make me unsure...

Initial cost= Wouldn't mind paying £1000-1500 more over a petrol equivalent. My Symphony which is my main commuter vehicle is doing about 6000miles a year, so about £350 in fuel and around about the same for yearly servicing + tax. So if say, SYM wanted £6000 for the EE1 the symphony costs £2500 new. That's £3500 difference or five years worth of fuel & servicing for the symphony with my use. Of course is the EE1 was priced sensibly at say £4000-4500 that's three years to break even, which would be more reasonable. I try to hold onto purchased scooters, so resale would not worry me to much

Storage - Eaten up by the battery.

Battery replacement cost/life. Would want ten years at least and not more than 15% loss of range. A plus of this is if battery technology improves, could after ten years rather than getting the same capacity battery what if they could provide one that is all the same dimensions/weight etc. but double the range?

Range and 'refill' time. (SYM EE1) at 30-60miles it would strictly be for work only. The range will slowly drop over the years as the battery looses life so another issue. Rather than a five minute fill up it's going to be 6-8hours...

In other words, all the things that cause hassle and expense with a Petrol scoot! I love the claim that electric scoots are easy to service...in my experience, petrol engines are easy - just change the oil, filters and plugs every few thousand miles, and it all runs like clockwork., whilst brakes and tyres cause endless grief and hassle .

102 volt battery could be a bit lethal with high DC current. Handle with care!
