I thought the Xmax engine is a completely new incarnation since only 2018, the Bluecore? Could be mistaken though...XMax400Paul wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 3:01 am The new X-max 300 engine has been about a few years, and a strong following on here, the engine is meant to be great..

The new four-valve, single overhead camshaft design has a bore and stroke of 70 x 75.9mm, giving a capacity of 292cc. Power is just under 28bhp at 7250rpm, up by over 7bhp from the 250, with torque increased by 8Nm – clocking in at 29Nm at 5750rpm.

Thanks for the reply’s people, it’s certainly marking me think a 300 is a good possibility.
As for waiting until after I’ve passed my test this is exactly what I intend to do, I’m just basically researching/asking for advice to give me a better understanding of what options are available.
I will be doing a DAS course so, as long as I pass, I won’t have any limitations on what is available to me. Although I have no interest at all in any rip snorting sports bike type things, or motorbikes in general to be honest.

I'd say test ride as many as you can.. Forza 300 new shape looks fantastic with true feet forward position riding dead comfy.. Xmax 300 great engine but not feet forward so cramped ride.. A used burgman 400 new shape is a good shout I get over 90mpg on mine... What's your budget

And the rest! The more miles I do, the more impressed I've become. Such an unstressed engine and easily capable of longer distances at high speed. I can only assume that the XMax 300 is even better, albeit too tall for me. It's the weight of these 300's that make them so easy to live with but I'm sure that others will prefer the extra beefiness of the Burger 400.

The Xmax 300 is a better m way bike than the 400 Burgman I had the engine feels a lot less rev'y at m way speed,
a few riders have complained about poor head lights though I am happy with mine.

The Forza tops out at 95 with a tailwind. But 85-90 is more the reality.
