They are fine machines to ride, even for long distances, when they're sorted. As you say, bushes, tyres and shocks - all money well spent.
EDIT: If you're looking at overhauling the transmission, my 2p worth is stick with the genuine Honda rollers, as the other weights I'd tried weren't much cop. Soichiro always knows best :)

The Honda Bando belts are expensive, and I had one snap after 6000 miles (was supposed to last 12000). Fool me once etc. - these days I buy the Taiwanese ones off eBay at about 1/4 of the price, and I replace them every 6000 miles whether they look OK or not. None of these has ever given any bother.

Just done my first fuel fill up. After 113miles, including 78mph run down the motorway, country lanes, ticking over on the ramp whilst servicing and lots of cold start ups I got 67mpg. I'm cuffed with that. Hoping for better now it's settled in.

That’s good Stephen, now you’re really on your way, enjoy it.

Can’t say the same for me unfortunately, I’m being bombarded with chest pain anytime I try to do anything , problem ongoing since January.... 4 hospital visits, consultant aware but seems to be dragging feet re getting me in for stent op. Daren’t try using any of my bikes - just don’t have the strength.

eFOLDi scoot is my temporary solution. www.efoldi.com
