Buttons - I am still hitting the wrong ones. So I lower the screen instead of flashing the headlamp or change the trip computer display instead of using the horn. Annoying. Hopefully time will fix this but I do worry for when I fit the handlebar mitts in the winter.

Engine - What I have also noticed is that it is noticeably louder than the Xmax and I think the J300 too. Maybe because it's an old design?
Well, if my experience with the big Burger is anything to go by, No, it takes forever to get used to eccentrically placed buttons on the bars!
When you say its loud, do you mean the engine is loud, or the exhaust? You'd think an engine is an engine, but you do give the impression that something of the engine's original life in a MX bike lives on! After all, quietness and smoothness aren't particularly important features of a MX engine!

I still stab the horn instead of cancelling the indicators once in a while.

Yes, sorry I wasn't clear: engine noise not exhaust.

The indicators on my C90 are the same position and type of switch as the killswitch on my Kwak!

I learned that lesson quickly!

Like Ralph, I'm finding that the Xmax 300 engine gets better as the miles mount up - it seems to feel livelier every time I ride it.
And yes, all at 100+mpg...

Yep... Often

Yam XMax400 has horn below indicator...
Honda SH has indicator below horn...
Or is it the other way round...

Loved my xmax 300 yes I agree the engine was incredibly good but the feet position wasn't.. I'd buy another tomorrow if it has feet forward like the forza or burg

I'm getting slightly jealous with some of the mpg stats being posted. I too think the xmax 300 engine is really superb but as a commuter and not ridden hard I'm getting 90mpg. That's still good of course but I've never managed over 100 like others. I wonder if it would improve with more longer trips...
