Paul,
You say your eldest ‘quite enjoyed it’ over the X Max. Did your eldest comment on the pillion seat. It looks and feels firm and thin compared to the Yamahas. This is one of my concerns....
Any thoughts?

Smaller and firmer...
But the XMax400 is somewhat vast and comfy...
But no real complaints
Said she can feel the difference in ride (from a swung unit to a swing arm)... And feels the DCT... Never been on a geared bike, just the XMax400 previously...
Enjoys the extra ooomph, and notices the pitching rather than the long low and flat handling of the XMax,
Quite astute to the sensations and dynamics described, but not totaly sure why from a technical perspective... Which proves and validates the sensation felt...
Had the old feet of the pegs and nearly under my armpits a couple of times!
One thing i noticed is a bit of foot interferance...
I ride with my toes on the peds, rather than instep... So a bit of rider heal / pillion toe battle for comfort! But i win cos im in charge!
Enjoying tge NC and DCT... Fingers crossed for a dry weekend...

well i'm getting around 75mpg from mine . it drops by 2 with passenger. my only gripe is the trunk/fuel key hole down the side.. i wish it was up the top like the 'X version.

My first ride on my NC750S gave me 92mpg, this was about as slow as I will ever ride it. It has pilot road 4 new tyres fitted and national speed limits observed, one S mode overtake was needed to get passed tractors. Enjoyed the bikes qualities and my jet type helmet fitted easily in the dummy tank.

Dunno - will have to see how it goes on fill up or look at the clocks trip etc...
Saturday jaunt to Hastings for an Ice Cream, 2 Up, S1... Instantaneous was reading mainly between 13 and 15miles/Lt so about 60/70 Mpg...
On an Average that may be more
When we used to go out on the XMax that would return 60's...

You can change it to read MPG. I average 68-75 commuting, 78-85 on a run.

Damn, that's impressive. Perhaps I should've gotten an X-ADV instead of my T-Max after all! ;)

...but the Tmax is more fun :!: ...or at least it appeared to be from my X-ADV test ride! And the NC engine's Harley impressions at low revs would drive me nuts. There again, the Tmax is more fun only when its not stuck inside a workshop...........
