Why would anyone buy one of those exploding rubber-framed '70s Kawasaki 2-strokes in 2019? At least the Helix can be relied upon to run for more than 500 miles between rebuilds and not throw you off at the first sniff of a bendorange1290 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 7:26 amyes but it's 2019 now, so why would people buy it today? It's not as if they are very collectable or ever will be no matter what those who own them dream about.
Bought for €1000 each and now worth at least €9,000 each and rising, that's whyJaz wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 4:51 pmWhy would anyone buy one of those exploding rubber-framed '70s Kawasaki 2-strokes in 2019? They aren't 'way over value' because these are the prices they are selling for. I've had several offers around the €9000 for each of my two 500's. Also, they aren't kept in Malta but in Germany garaged with several other classic bikesXP500FUN wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 4:29 am Well yes possibly on the two strokes, but they are still way over value.
This Helix is probably suffering from " I own it syndrome " where it has extra value/worth in the owners eyes as its belongs to them !!!
Funnily enough most people I encounter who suffer from this usually want major discounts etc when they are buying things though.
I have an aquantance in another hobby who often strongly complains on a forum for that hobby that items are now way way over priced, but then sells them himself for about 3 or 4 times the price, but always wants cash off ( the lower price ) and free post etc when he is buying.
Best Mark.
Exactly. Anything is worth what someone will pay for it.orange1290 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 4:37 am They aren't 'way over value' because these are the prices they are selling for.
