I've never had a CZ in me life mate, or had the slightest interest in them. MZ's were my thing and their chains were fully enclosed albeit differently than CZ and Jawa. British manufacturer Silk Engineering copied MZ's chain enclosed in gaiters design for their Silk 700S two-strokes back in the late Seventies.

I'm really enjoying not having to oil a chain or clean spent lube off the rear half of my motorcycle, but I suspect my mood might darken if I suddenly had a £300 bill for a new belt due to an errant stone chip...

Maybe Yamaha should move to shaft drive for the T-Max? :D

I rode for many miles with a small 8mm hole in my BMW f650cs scarver belt caused by a gravel flint, forgot all about it really until going on a long trip abroad. The belts are strong, the hole got no bigger and I sold the bike.

Thanks for all your replies.

Yes Dave it did occur to me to just carry on and not worry about it, then I got to thinking they only fitted it in March April time during the recall and it’s under warranty still. Got me wondering if the dealer who I have a lot of time for would replace it. They are making a claim for me and seem optimistic. If they turn it down I may just carry on and keep a beedy eye on it.

We were taking it to the Isle of Wight this weekend (from here in Norfolk) for the Scooter Rally but I’ve chickened out and got some rail tickets in the end. Shame. The weather looks cracking for once. I normally get soaked somewhere along the line....Normally on the A12 in Essex. I think they have it in for me there.

Anyone else going I wonder.......,

Snail is. There's another tread in the Rideout's section.

I am pleased to say Yamaha have agreed to replace my drive belt at their expense.
