As its been 3 years since the mk6 was unveiled I was wondering if there was going to be any sort of update Tmax upgrade unveiled this year. Sounds like there won't be much different, except for the engine. I don't take Yamaha's power output figures seriously these days - 30 more cc will give you an extra 1.7bhp?? I'm convinced it produces somewhat more as it is! Perhaps the new version will give a little more torque.

Yup wel its to keep the bikes A2 licence friendly apperently so looks like thats never going to happen, before long it will be electric or hybrid as the norm so i hope someone comes out with a game changer, as a new Honda Africa twin is coming with modified dct, more power and tft screen etc i hope they will do similar to the x adv and give it a diet as its due an upgrade soon, my mate has the current one and just did a 940 mile stint in one day around Scotland and back on his, he loves it but was a bit broken when he got back haha.

Well at least Yamaha are slowly but surely increasing the TMax's engine capacity. Remember a few years ago when forum members reckoned Yamaha was going to upgrade the TMax into a 750.

That was a good myth - the 3 cylinder 750 Tmax! That rumour would never die...
There again, the BMW scoots were equally mythological for years until they eventually appeared in the flesh.

Oh yes, the Ducati Maxi....it exists, but only on dozens of PCs/Macs with Photoshop installed across the world!
There is supposed to be a 400cc Scomadi trad-style scoot coming, which sounds like it'd be 'interesting' to ride!

So the future Tmax is getting a bigger engine and will be heavier. I would have thought at least reducing consumption and emissions, or maybe going hybrid or electric would be a better idea. Perhaps if they give it the Bluecore treatment, that would be something.

Yeah, but its pricey enough now - goodness knows how much they'd charge for a Hybrid!
Not the slightest bit interested in any fully electric vehicle until they can do a decent range.
