Sh300 spec
I understand that the latest generation of the honda sh300i has led lights and keyless ignition but what changes were made to the actual engine - I believe the older model pushed out 27 bhp compared to the current models 25

Re: Sh300 spec
the goal for the euro-4 model was emissions and economy, performance suffered.

Re: Sh300 spec
The original model had 27bhp, but when the scoot was revised a few years ago, the stated power did go down slightly, which was what the Forza 300 had anyway.

Re: Sh300 spec
A new engine for both the Sh300 and the Forza must be due soon, surely? The current one is way behind Yamaha's on both power and economy and that came out over 2 years ago now.

Re: Sh300 spec
Honda's logic with engines is always hard to fathom! Or what they actually do to an engine as time progresses. The SH/Forza engine must bes quite old as it was based on an engine used in a MX bike before it became a scooter engine (and felt like it in the original SH300!), but what Honda have done to it since is hard to know. At the end of the day its fundamentally just a piston, crank, cylinder head and block + some electronics like any other engine

Re: Sh300 spec
That may be correct however will that Yamaha unit prove as durable as the Honda engine in the longer term - since it’s launch in 2007 literally thousands have been sold throughout europe and many from that era are still gracing our roads showing over 50 thousand on the odometer
