Mot 6 month extension

Post by Deleted User 7077 »

Anyone due mot in April ?
Have you been on Gov website see if it's been updated and mot date extended .
Just search mot history put in your reg make sure it's the Gov one .
Just wondered if they are updating as mot runs out or going to do them all .

Just checked mine it runs out 29th 4 it is still showing that date
but a note on the page says they are updating as they come up,
so it is likely to be updated nearer the time.

From dvla website .

“Check your MOT expiry date has been extended
Your MOT expiry date will usually be updated on the day your MOT is due to expire. However, it might be done up to a few days before.

You can check your MOT history to see when your MOT expiry date has been extended. Keep checking back if your new expiry date is not showing yet.”

Will save 3 lots of Mot’s , Down side I normally have mot & service done at same time , Plus you can’t really go for a leisure ride at the moment :x

Plus you can’t really go for a leisure ride at the moment

I rode The Crowman to Tesco yesterday - 20 minutes each way; it is the supermarket I use every week for my main shop so I felt justified.

It was a pleasant run along the coast and I shall do it again instead of taking the car when I need supplies.

Did the same thing, more or less, today. The car has been used recently but the scoot lay idle so I went to a nearby town for shopping on the Forza. After all, the amount you can fit under the seat and in the top box combined would challenge some small cars' boots! (ok, maybe an exaggeration) But it was a very pleasant ride along the lanes and I did notice that the voltmeter read a little low but that perked up after a while.

I see no reason why anyone else shouldn't do the same?

Its all a bit of a muddle, but what I've read is that one is quite entitled to take your car or scoot when going for your daily exercise (a Deputy Chief Constable said this). Certain police forces seem to be interpreting social distancing as house arrest though. After all, there are no restrictions whatsoever on how far you can cycle!

I'd let the DN's lapse, but I managed to get it tested the last Saturday before lockdown occurred.
