Spare Key for an AN400 2012 Model ZA L2

Post by ba249k »

Hi
I have asked this question before, I have contacted both Suzuki and my local dealer and searched the internet but so far have not got a definitive answer!
Here it is again ' Does anyone know how to get a replacement key?'
I have just one key supplied with the bike, I have no numbers or info with regards to the originally supplied keys - just one original key.
This operates everything and all is fine and dandy, until I damage it or lose it!
I have found replacements on the internet where I can configure the magnets etc.
But does anyone know if on this year of bike the keys are chipped as well?
I hope one of you guy's out there can shed some light on this!
Cheers
 Baz

And yes...they are 'chipped'. You dealer should be able to help. See another dealer if you are not getting anywhere.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 54 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

The latest from Suzuki GB.

Dear Mr Attwood
Thank you for your recent contact.
Please accept our apologies for any incorrect information previously supplied to you regarding your key enquiries. We can confirm that the process for ordering replacement keys for the Burgman range is unique due to the key shutters that feature on this model. In order to obtain replacement keys for the AN400 the customer must be able to supply the original key code which featured on the key ring supplied with the motorcycle at the point of sale. Should the customer not have the key code a new shutter set which features three keys will be required.
We trust that this information has been useful to you and that your preferred Suzuki Dealer can assist further with this matter.
Kind regards
Glen Coppock
Customer Services Executive

Steinbeck Crescent, Snelshall West, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK4 4AE.

Cost of a Shutter Set is around £230 , so I'll not be rushing out to get one! I'll just have to be extra careful with my one key!

I do find that odd as they replaced my lost key from the computer records, unless it was just my dealer who had the grey cells ingear and recorded them.

Hi
I've finally sort the replacement chipped key for a Burgman problem.
It took me quite a while with different keys bought via the internet and cut locally.
But I have finally sorted the SIAS Magnetic Shutter and the chipped key.
I'll not explain everything on here but if anyone is having the same trouble
If you contact me I'll explain all!
All done for under £30.
Cheers
