Replacing the Rear wheel

Post by ba249k »

Hi
I am after some pointers about replacing the rear wheel into my Burgman AN400 2012.
This morning I got a nail in my rear tyre, I drove on it most of the day until I got home this evening.
I pulled it out and it had puncture my rear tyre.
I have already partially stripped the back end down, with just the rear wheel nut to remove before I remove the wheel to get it sorted.
I am just wondering about the locking wheel nut.
I know it is said to replace it each time, but is that really necessary?
What about using some nut lock on it?
Part of my apprehension is about availability of replacements. My local dealer is not great with parts.
Does anybody know a reliable source for these?
Any experiences or info greatly received.
Cheers
Baz

Robinsonss for Suzuki spares i think it is Robinsons foundry.
And yes if you have had the wheel off a couple of times i would fit a nut lock nut for the two or three notes they are.
Much better than the wheel passing you on the motorway.. :>)
