A good day today, despite my late arrival. Met Steve,Steve, Dave, Barry, Martyn and Roy for a very nice breakfast and engaging conversation. Special thanks to Steve for his very helpful gesture. Continued on to Barry's to have a look at his Burgman and then home. My poor little Enfield was very hot and very tired. I think that this was the furthest it has ever travelled in one day.
Thanks everybody.

Glad you made it home safely Dave. How would you like to ride around London every day?

Good to see one and all,7 of us today, things were a bit of a rush for me,i wanted to have a look at Steve's new Tmax, but didn't get around to it,Barry was giving me a lesson on how to strip the inners out of my new lid and install the comms set,I needed to back home at a reasonable time to cut the grass and shower, ready to collect my new car.The M1 northbound was still very busy from the aftermath of that horrible accident on the southbound carriageway,i see the vehicles involved being taken into Newport Pagnall services with a police escort, the M1 south was still shut, highways were still clearing up,unsure what time it opened.

My pleasure Dave,i like the Enfield by the way,the single seat really looks good, not unlike a "bobber"

Is that you, Barry?
Thanks, I really enjoyed it but I imagine that the novelty would soon wear off. I had my only armoured jacket on which is waxed cotton with a membrane and lined in cotton. I was melting by the time I got to Aylesbury and had to stop for a cold milkshake.
I need a new mesh wardrobe!

Thanks Steve
I think they have a claim to be one of the original British bobbers as it was around 1935 before they gained rear suspension.
The old RE dealer that resides in South Oxfordshire will build you a RE to your spec and customise any features you want including removing rear suspension to create a bobber. His name is Bruce Maconochie and his prices are very reasonable. A lovely guy who, when you talk to him just exudes a passion for his work that is very infectious. His knowledge of RE's is vast and will be lost with him.

Breakfast was good today, another new face,Andy from the X9 forum.Seven of us today and all were up for my planned ride to Foxes diner Dorchester where the A4074 & A415 meet, good ride, one road closed which threw me out a bit, took us in to a bit of traffic, but we soon got back on track, had a look around Infinity motorcycle accessories next to the diner,as far as i know we all resisted buying anything :D
