RBLR Ride
Last weekend the Royal British Legion Riders branch of Cumbria held the VC ride,over 50 riders visited the headstones or memorial plaques of 13 soldiers who where given the VC from Cumbria.I could only make the last 2 stops Ulverston and Coniston.At each headstone and plaque Steve the organiser of the event gave a short talk on what each soldier had done to be awarded the VC,than 2 minutes silence and finally the Kohima Epitaph.The ride was over 2 days with riders staying over night at Workington.
