Gilera Runner recall 1998 - 2005

Post by StephenC »

Just found this. http://www.repubblica.it/economia/finan ... 71903/?rss

No idea if it applies over here, but apparently an Italian court has decided that Runners with the fuel tank located high up in the front bodywork are inherently dangerous and Piaggio must recall all of them and pay the owners compensation.

Sounds a bit bizarre to me, but if anyone had one, it may be worth checking out.

If it was April 1st, I would be suspicious.
I've had three of the early ones. luckily I got rid of the last one to my brother and he risks his goolies exploding in "balls of flames"
If we took it in to the local Gilera dealer, I doubt they would know what we were on about!

Your one's fine, it's the originals with the high mounted fuel tank that are apparently the issue.
