Has anyone had the stock unit rebuilt by any specialists?

I'm buying a Mk3 500 Tmax tomorrow which is tidy but 'well used', I just hope the suspension isn't past its best yet.

I had my allegedly non-rebuildable BMW suspension rebuilt by MCT in stowmarket for a fraction of the genuine replacement or aftermarket price.

There are after market shocks, but they cost a fortune. Another possibility is that Hyperpro do replacement (progressive rate) fork spring and rear shock inserts, which don't cost a fortune, but of course require labour. I had the fork inserts on my old mk1 and they did improve the handling, though hardened the ride. I even have a rear shock insert for my current mk1 but don't think its worth the hassle and expense of having it fitted.
