I'd check on the necessity of carrying breathalysers; I am sure the French police dropped that rule since it was unworkable.
Also, I am certain the requirement for reflective helmet stickers in France is four: one each at front and back and one on each side which is the reason they come in packs of four on Amazon, for example.
I stand to be corrected, of course.

Reading this gives the impression Sat Navs and Bluetooth phones are out if using earpods but helmet stickers are not needed

In Ostend there's very good m/c parking alongside the harbour, above the underground car-park. If you park there you will see several cafes in the adjacent square.

All, except the very old and those that have not been updated for some considerable time, are legal in France. All modern (last 5 years?) sat navs don't show actual speed camera exact locations. They do warn you when you are in a speed camera/ safety camera 'area' though. They are legal. Normally chime up probably a kilometer or so before the actual camera location has been my experience. Normally co-incides with the advance warning of speed cameras. Oh, and unlike this country, when you see a camera warning in France, you WILL get a camera - no false warnings.Daveyd wrote:Only for the French bit. If you turn the sat nav off before the gendarme gets to you all is good. They have no powers to turn it back on to see if camera warnings are functioning. The Bern wrote:Sat navs are out if they have speed/safety camera function turned on
Having said that you've really got to have ticked somebody off (speeding usually) as gendarmes are so pro bike it's embarrassing.
