Afternoon all,
Anybody any views or opinions as to which maybe best....20 miles motorways and a road daily commute.
Able to test ride burgman 400 now but nobody seems to have a new xmax 400
Thanks

charles1976 from what X Max 300 owners on this forum say there is very little extra horsepower and a lot more weight and expense to the X Max 400 over the 300.

Its probably worth a ride on the Burger in any case, as the latest version is a bit different to previous versions - slightly smaller, lighter and marginally sportier than the very touring orientated last version.
Of course, I'm a Yamaha person...but the Xmax 400 never really appeals as it weighs as much as a Tmax with less power, and the new version's exhaust looks like it fell off a truck!

Save a grand, buy the Xmax 300 instead of the 400. There's only 4hp and a parking brake between them.
My commute is 30 miles and the 300 works well for that, returning 93mpg over varied roads including motorway.

As a Xmax300 owner I can only agree with StephenC's post, though I don't do the commute malarkeyStephenC wrote:Save a grand, buy the Xmax 300 instead of the 400. There's only 4hp and a parking brake between them........

Well, after looking at the new Xmax 400 this morning and finding it has normal motorbike front suspension and Traction Control, I will be getting one of these instead of a T Max. add a few extras and miles cheaper than a Tmax. Just got to sort my acc. claim on current 400 and will be well away.

I like traction control on the Xmax. It adds a nice little distracting orange light to your instrument display just as you're concentrating on pulling out of a side turning on a greasy road.ramasay wrote:Well, after looking at the new Xmax 400 this morning and finding it has normal motorbike front suspension and Traction Control, I will be getting one of these instead of a T Max. add a few extras and miles cheaper than a Tmax. The TC on the Bev used to cut in now and again, when you'd least expect it, but I'm not sure its doing much on the Tmax.
