Visited one of my favourite Honda dealers today who stated he was glad I'd called in as he had some news.
He proclaimed strictly off the record & you will get full denial from Honda but fact the concept Monkey bike & New Honda Cub are both being launched by the end of this year beginning of next.
He stated that the phones haven't stopped ringing about the new Cub..
In the meanwhile I took there BNIB 67 plate CRF250L with 4 miles on the clock for a test ride.
Let's just say it went back very muddy but not a lot of miles
I didn't thrash it (always respectful even though it's a demo bike) but the chain had stretched some.
I felt the L is far better value than the new Rally version for £750 less.
As it's end of year top money was offered for the Silverwing & £250 off list price but deal must be done by end of the month.
Decisions decisions.
As an aside. The same dealer had a Silverwing in good condition low miles which sold quickly.
The buyer traded it in the next day with a nearby dealers for a 650 Burgman!!!!
The new dealer has it listed at a retail £700 more than the first dealer??
Silverwing prices are all over the place but the guy must have really hated it

Compared to the Burgman 650 you would hate a Silverwing on day 1, but give me a Silverwing as the long term scooter.

A new cub? Can't wait to see it. Wonder if they will go for retro styling or start from scratch. If it is as good as the original they should be onto a winner.

Re: New Hondas'
Oh wow! Apart from the wheels and the front disc brake it's almost identical to the early models. I thought they might go down the retro route but not to that extent. It looks like they took one of the late 1950s cubs and just changed the wheels and a few minor details.

Not yet.horobags wrote:have you bought the crf yet Harvey?
Somebody on the forum has shown an interest in the wing but I was selling for loads less than I've been offered as a PX but then I have to find "more" cash to buy CRF.
Also put my kit on the day after the test ride and had forgotten how much muck your boots & trouser bottoms pick up on trailey bikes.
2 weeks still to decide though
How was Goa?
