Dont use keyhole shutter

Post by ridinhigh »

Hi all, been reading burgman posts,i see a problem some owners have had with the key hole shutter,
some owners say they don't use it any more.
so how do you keep it open ,?

You have to slide it sideways across the hole to block it, it's not sprung or anything, just don't close it.

Don’t you have to use the special key to do that? IIRC you can close it with any key but you need the correct key to open it. Been so long since I had mine I can’t remember now. I do remember coming unstuck using it. :(
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!

You can only close it with the unique to your bike key, don’t close it and you won’t have a problem opening it

Yes Meldrew Sir, the Kawasaki J300 ( Kymco ) i have has the same thing. The only difference i can see is that to close it you use a little yellow button on the slot outer rim to open it the same as the Burger, the back end of the key.
