I installed a heated seat today.
With winter approaching, and I do ride to work every day, I thought bugger it and bought one.
Was a bit of a job, with lots of plastics to remove.
It was the Yamaha accessory heated seat. Came with good instructions.
When I removed it out of its box, it has the brand "Shad" on the bottom of it. So Yamaha must have got Shad seats to build it.
I took it for a ride once installed to see if it works, and it's very good. It got hotter than I imagined it would. I rode with jeans on, and today was about 17 C, and the seat got so hot I had to turn it to low power. It has high and low power setting.
So should work very well in winter when I often get 2 - 4 C cold mornings.

Stick a couple of rashers under your bum and you can have a bacon butty when you get to work.

So to give a little report, I've been using my seat, and its great.
Being late April its not too cold just yet. (will be coldest in June/July/Aug)
This morning's ride to work (https://goo.gl/maps/mGjF6o8M4R72) it was showing 10 Deg Celsius on my dashboard. (this temp will get down to 2-5 C in the coming months)
So I had the seat on high power, but after about 10 mins had to turn it to low power, just gets soooo hot under your bum. But the heater does extend toward the very front of the seat, so having your legs forward while sitting, also heats up the top part of your legs.
Comfort wise, it seems to have a little thicker padding than the standard seat. But I found the standard seat comfortable
