Hi I have an X-ADV and I'm slightly smaller than you being just under 5'10. Ergonomics is a very personal thing, however I find the bike is extremely comfy for me, but there you go. Yep it is tall in the saddle and it was an issue that played on my mind before I got the bike. However, as the miles rise I've found the suspension has settled and I'm not struggling quite as much as I was at the start of my ownership. The bike is indeed a weighty machine and could do with 20kg being knocked off the weight. I do find having the tall rear end makes the bike easier to control while manually reversing it into my garage than my previous Bonneville 1200 (a bike as bland as a bland thing on a very bland afternoon).
I'll keep it for a couple of years and see what it's like when i'm pushing 60...

One two wheeler that does everything?
I'd settle for one that doesn't cause me harm!

Re: One Two Wheeler That Does Everything - Impossible! - X-ADV disappoints
For me (approaching 74, live on the coast in Cornwall) now I only ride when I want to, the Vespa 300GTS is close to perfect. Light and small enough to manhandle easily yet big enough to accommodate my 6'2". No luggage capacity to speak of, although the bag hook and flat floor is surprisingly useful. If I still did scooter touring I'd probably go back to the Silver Wing. If I still had regular hooligan tendencies I'd go back to the T-Max. I find myself looking at XV 535s on the web but I don't know if I'd fit on one comfortably and down here there's no opportunity to try one out.

Its a longish trip but I have booked for an AK 550 test ride at J&S Eynsham tomorrow( Friday). I'll be there around noon with a bit of luck, and I'll report back on how I like it and anything else I can remember to ask.

That assumes that they've actually sold any in that year!
