Watch the brakes for the first hundred miles they are good once bedded in but weak when new, and make sure you get the fuel cap back right line up the dot get it wrong and it’s a pig to get off

Now you tell me!
Only just saw this post but you were not wrong!
When I rode out of the dealership, the brakes were almost non existent!
Especially after just getting off of my previous mount that had really sharp double discs up front :)
I rode the bike home and as a precaution I cleaned the discs front and back with brake cleaner just to make sure!
I’ve done 92 miles on it today and the brakes are starting to get some bite.
I am sure they will be very good once fully bedded in.
Strange I have never bought a bike before with brakes that didn’t work when new!

Note to self post quicker, icon_ icon_old.gif
They are good once bedded in and the rear on scooters are better than on bikes so use both, I too came form a double disc concoction
and am happy with the X-max ones once they have done a few miles, mine took about 250 miles to be rely on the ball.
When you fill it don't go above the ridge about half way down the filler neck if you squeeze the last drop in or you will likely get a bit
of a hiccup when you accelerate away, you will be amazed at the fuel consumption.

I was amazed by the fuel consumption but not surprising coming from a Gilera 180 FXR 2 stroke,i don't use the bike to commute its purely for fun and usually gets an outing once a week around the cotswolds.
Also took the tip of a timer for the optimate and bought one today and have set that for an hour or so a day.
Correct about the brakes too they take a couple of hundred miles to settle.

mines done 4500kms now, about to do the yearly service myself. I fitted a Givi top box (E39) soon after I got it last year. Runs like a dream, over 100mpg and doesn't use any oil at all.

Been running with smaller bikes over the last few days so quite slow not above 50 or so ,got home on Saturday with the low fuel flashing 51 miles on the F trip and over 300 miles since the last fill, its about 15 miles to the fuel station, will it make it? Think I may bottle it and put a gallon in the top box before I try.

Well it made it just was cutting out on acceleration as we got to the fuel station, took 13.91 ltrs to fill,
62 miles on F trip, 339 miles on the tank, 106.9 UK MPG, mpg trip says 114.9 mpg but it rely did 106.9.

I don't often push my luck that far, though I do the Round Britain Rally and you can end up miles from
fuel so it's good to know how far you can go. doesn't seem to make a lot of difference how fast you go
and it uses more fuel at slower speeds sometimes. don't think I have had anything that does better.

Xmax 300 has a 13L tank, so I would be very suspicious of that fuel station reading stating more than you actually paid for.
