I believe it's a floating/semi floating disc, so could very well be the mounting pins/bobbins that are caked with dirt or brake dust causing the floating to stop. This will give a pulsating feeling through the front brake lever. Use brake cleaner to give the disc mounting points a thorough clean.
Inspected by dealer; confirmed as warped.
yeah, I had that with my ZZR1400, the dealer said they were warped but in fact it was the mounting bobbins that were jammed with brake dust. Same on my KTM 1290 adventure, deaer said warped but a good clean of the mounts and then they were fine.

New disc and pads fitted yesterday afternoon under warranty - now back to 'poor' front brake until it beds in again..!
Which takes a while, but it's excellent when it does.

I did wounder if due to the brake being so poor until it beds in I had been
leaning on it more than was good for it when new and so the warping.

Ralph I doubt if every X Max owner with warped disc " lent on it more than was good for it". One of my mates with the 125 X Max only had rear disc warp.

I have just had a second rear disc replacement on my Xmax400, @1000 miles after the original warped at......@ 1000miles. Replacemed under warranty again, another 11 months until 2yr warranty is up. Not a hard breaker, dealer say's the disc composition has been changed making them more susceptible to warping by overheating at 'normal' braking usage.
