And if your address isn't up to date (paper or photo licence) then it's an offence. Not sure anyone's ever been prosecuted just for that, though

Government advice is to get one now as if there's no deal it's out of our control.

I picked mine up yesterday (going to Romania in April). The Post Office have increased the number of branches you can get these from, from a few hundred (main branches) to a few thousand. As of yesterday the PO website was only showing the main branches.

I'd get one now. It's only a few quid and if it does hit the fan they'll be overrun with applications.
