Re: TMax recall
I’m booked in for the remedial work this Tuesday afternoon. Take an hour the dealer says. Part arrived the day after they ordered it. Great service.
I’ll let you know how it goes and if I learn anything from them.

Re: TMax recall
Interesting. The dealer in York said they'd get back to me about when they knew spares would arrive, but I've heard nothing

Re: TMax recall
No just the belt . The wire element of the belt is too weak apparentlyMrGrumpy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 3:10 pm Yamaha originally claimed the belt offered a better riding experience compared to the chain-in-oil, but I can't say I've ever noticed! The new thinner belt drive was supposed to save weight. I wonder if they will effectively put parts from the mk4/5 on instead??

Yes. Which is why the whole thing is only supposed to take an hour.

Re: TMax recall
Had the work done this afternoon. Took an hour as quoted. Belt looks much the same as before but has blue markings around it. Service book at the back stamped to show recall work undertaken. Mechanic said the ECU update richened the mixture at the idle. A number of machines were running too lean at idle and stalling. They replaced a belt recently on a mk 6 T Max at 12000 miles after it snapped.
Can’t say I have noticed any change in performance on the way home.
Bugsy.

Re: TMax recall
Had mine done with service and 2 new tyres . Also included a new CVT unit as there is a recall due to slipping. I noticed a massive difference although took it easy on the new tyres . Love it even more . Sold my GSA

Re: TMax recall
A new CVT unit??? Is this part of the same recall? It wasn't mentioned originally, so have they added it to the list? I have noticed some funny things going on with my CVT, but only at high speeds.
I'm booked in tomorrow (after last week's great weather, rain forecast!!!). Have to see what they do. Probably find that they haven't got the CVT parts in so I'll have to go in again!
