That Bluecore engine is way better than anything else out there right now: the combination of power and economy isn't matched by anything.

My MPG is a bit higher than most due to were we live not a lot of traffic and longer runs to get anywhere,
if it's true that a belt drive looses 30% of the engine power it is even more impressive, long stroke helps
and they do seem to have got the gearing right, works better than any other of the same kind I have
used, when you remove the under seat tub and look down at the engine it is quite a lump, looks like
a speedway engine.

I have got to do this to fit my Givi rack and Topbox.
Bought it 6 months ago and still not got around to doing it :?
My excuse is that there's so much space under the seat!

Speaking of top boxes mine as the Yamaha one and rack fitted, they just lock together no adapter plates,
anyway I had my box off and when I refitted it I did not get it fitted correctly, 70 mph on the motorway
and felt a big thump in my back then a constant pressure pushing me forward, pulled over thinking the
top had come open only to find the complete box had come off and was on the pillion seat pushing against my back.
Refitted it correctly this time making sure it was well and truly locked but the aerodynamic's must be interesting
round the back of the scooter for it to do that instead of smashing it's self all over the M-way.

Did 200 miles in 5 hours on Monday, after the top box incident in the last post I thought I would take it off
to see if it affected the feel of the scoot, to my surprise it does seem to make the handling a little more
responsive and it seems to do a little better on fuel, it is showing 115mpg after the run, not checked
it at the pumps yet, the Cafe in the clouds on the A 686 is still in ruins after the fire though so no brecky
there on the way.

12000 mile service, belt £64 would have done at least another 3/5000
valves in spec and on the slack side so they wont get touched for at least another 24000,
air filters definitely needed changing transmission one £7 air filter set £19,
Valve cover gasket £10,
Oil filter £2:36.
Will likely have a look at the air filters at 6000 next time.
It is still on it's org front tyre the rear was changed 9000 but it would likely have done at least 10000 but for puncture.
Needs another front disc but waiting on Yamaha to decide on warranty don't expect any problems but if I have to
buy one it will be a EBC as I am not impressed with the Yamaha ones.

Xmax 300 valves, to adjust you take out the allen bolt at the chain end of the rocker shaft
remove the spacer and then you can slide the rocker to the side and you can then change
the shims, no need to faf with the cam shaft.

Just a pic of the drive belt.
