Thank you. I'll give it a bit of a tug then before we go out this afternoon. :D

In Cornwall now. Biggest worry now is I think the motorhome engine battery is about goosed but I'll just call the breakdown people on that one. Going for a ride down to st Austell and Charlestown this afternoon so will see what the bikes like. Never used it yesterday. Weather was rubbish.

Why don't you just lift the brake pads out and have a look? Can't be that difficult on a Vision. Give them a quick dry scrub with a kitchen scouring pad.

Wouldn't know where to start and I can't really work on stuff low down easily. Arthritis. I'd probably end up voiding the warranty if I did. Anyway done 50+ miles today and it's been fine. Not doing it anymore. At the moment at least

....which at least indicates that it isn't a warped disc - they don't go away!

I'd suspect then that there was a bit of something caught in one of the holes in the disc, and it's now worn away - it happens.

Thanks. My thoughts as well. Ill just leave it alone then. Pretty demanding roads down here. A lot of brake activity two up so good chance it has worn away hopefully. Dont know how long a set of pads last but we have now clocked over 1000 miles since new. Done nearly 800 miles in three weeks so at this rate ill need some new pads before long anyway and a 4000 mile service by the end of the summer!

Excellent! It'll be fine now. The pads, pistons & disc can be a bit sticky to start with. Ultimately, I think that is what has been happening, the piston failing to fully retract a pad. This only need to be by half a millimetre. Also an air bubble in the fluid can contribute or even cause this. But it sounds good now! Enjoy!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 54 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

Cheers! The little bike seems to be really loosening up now as well. Came down the A30 three lane dual carriageway back to the motorhome late afternoon yesterday and it was sat at 60 mph (indicated) which I thought was impressive. Its pulling well albeit slowly up the steep backroads but no problem. At first I thought it was less powerful than the old 2012 vision but now it definitely has the edge. Last MPG test 117mpg, the one before that 139 which I just find incredible considering the roads and two up close to its max payload. Looking forward to today. Padstow and Newquay. (well dunno about Newquay  )

Unbolt the calliper and swing it out of the way (don’t dangle it from the pipe) and spin the wheel, sometimes the heads of the disk mounting bolts can just touch leaving a witness mark on either the fork leg or the calliper itself.

Then inspect the disk for a crack between the vent holes, it will be REALLY difficult to spot and just look like a time fine line. When the disk heats it may spring apart causing the sound to become more noticeable.

That disk is solidly mounted and so is more prone to cracking that a floating type - that said it takes one hell of a lot of heat for it to happen.
