Re: Honda ct125
You aren't Honda, though, and they have a knack for this kind of business.
Occasionally, they do consult the great British public. Like in 2017/8 when they asked for opinions as to whether to bring the C125 Cub to the UK. They also asked across the whole of the EU.
Their view was that it was a very limited market, that the European (and particularly the UK) markets had moved on from the incredibly popular C series Cubs, and that the market preferred auto scooters in this sector, like the PCX125.
The overwhelming response to the public consultation across Europe and the UK, was that the C125 would sell massively. So, they took a punt and introduced it to the UK.
In the 4 years that the C125 has been on sale in the UK, they've shifted a grand total of 673 of them.
How many PCXs did they sell in that period? 11266.
Whilst the CT125 is undoubtedly popular in a niche market. It is even more niche than the C125, the natural successor to the best selling motorcycle, ever.
It's not worth their while bringing them in unless it is a loss leader or they want the publicity.
Simple economics, I'm afraid. Sad but true.
