But that's 100cc more, four cylinders, no emission controls and better quality leaded fuel.
Hardly a like for like comparison.

A bigger engine, "should" use more fuel as it weighs more, I think what he was getting at was the age of the machine compared to a new one and the "ball park" figure of mpg hasnt changed.

Yes thats exactly what Im saying  A friend had an Aeriel 650 from the 1950s.... that returns well over 80mpg. A modern 250cc bike should be doing a good 100mpg by now at least.

A CBR250R can easily do 100mpg

Thats good then :D Re this Suzuki, saw it at the NEC and thought it was quite funky.... maybe a bit ugly but not bad for a 250 bike.

All the Inazuma needs is a nicer front mudguard, a circular headlamp, proper analogue instruments.... and another 250cc
The shape of that mudguard reminds me of the one on the Kawasaki GPX750, maybe it looks better in the flesh.
Styling foibles aside it has to be seriously good value at just £3400 even if (as the release pics show) it has been robbed of its centrestand.
I'm looking forward to having a thrash (oops!) test ride on one.

I think it is designed for major markets like India rather than for the UK.
I bet they will shift shed loads in other markets.

When I was a teenager everything seemed to 250cc, they became too powerful for the power that be and got killed off.

There is also a 350cc version coming to our shores at some point too. Read that somewhere, maybe in MCN. Don't know when it will be here, but prolly not this year.

My 250 superdream would struggle to do much more than 75mph and would take its own sweet time to stop from those speeds. It was an old bike when I had it about 5 or so years ago so it might have been faster in its youth.

I was disappointed with my 250 Superdream, 75mph is about right, I also had a Benly 200 at the same time, which was a bit quicker and more economical.
I have a CB250 now, based on the Benly engine, that will do 75mph, I use that as my main bike, the engine is basic, much like the Inazuma, but with Honda build quality. I would like to test the bikes back to back , I think the Honda might just win, I get 80-100mpg from it.
