Just thought I'd mention to anyone who is interested that after contacting KYMCO I received an email back the other day saying the following regarding the Myroad 700i.
Copy of email received:
Dear Ian,
Thank you for your email. I am sorry but we do not have any plans to import the Myroad 700i into the UK. We do import the Downtown 300i which sells very well and we have had a number of customers trade in the 400 Burgman for a Downtown 300i.
If I can be of further assistance please do contact me.
Kind Regards,

Hmmmm I'm not sure that the Downtown 300 is a very appropriate alternative to the MyRoad!!

Re: KYMCO MYROAD 700i
I think the Myroad would be just too expensive for selling a Kymco in the UK. If it had a more recognised badge it may do better, but by how much is anyone's guess.

I think it would fair very badly against the Burgman 650/Silverwing 600 unless it was much cheaper - i.e. £4k on the road kind of price.wozza wrote:I think the Myroad would be just too expensive for selling a Kymco in the UK. As you say they are an unknown make here and the MyRoad looks naff styling wise, if the power rangers (kids TV program) designed a scooter, this would be what it looked like!!

I can't let that lie.
It's not unknown, just not widespread.
Where Kymco sell, they sell very well.
However, I'd take their comment that the Downtown sells very well with a pinch of salt.
There's still only 45 of them after 2 years of doing business in the UK.

That'll probably be a very small number.Data wrote:" we have had a number of customers trade in the 400 Burgman for a Downtown 300i. "
In two years (from Q3 of 2010 to the end of Q2 of 2012) Kymco have managed to shift just 55 Downtowns throughout the whole of the UK.
Possibly the most under-rated maxi scooter and should be selling in much bigger numbers.
