New Pug maxis

Post by StephenC »

Just seen that the UK website has been updated. As well as the Metropolis 400 there are a four new 125 models, a 100cc scooter and an unknown 400cc scooter.

Aside from the Metrop all of them have no image as yet. I wonder if thet are waiting for EICMA to open on the 12th Nov? The mystery 400cc must be the Satelis mk2.

Can't post a screenshot from here so you'll just have to click the link to see. http://www.peugeotscooters.co.uk/

the 125 tripod looks an interesting design, better than the piaggio mp3/VWbeetle styling but not as agressive as the Yourban.

How mysterious! Perhaps if you look back at coverage of the Cologne show, or even last year's EICMA, you might get some clues.
I thought the Step-thru (Honda cub rip-off) was quite a bargain at £1250

The Vox (Honda Innova not Cub! copy) looks interesting, especially at that price. But i've noticed Peugeot
have almost always got quite a bit off offers on certain models. My dealer (SYM & Peugeot) admitted that
quite a few of the Puegeot models were overpriced and just weren't selling. People where going for SYM's instead
The Vivacity for example was £2100 but now it's going for £1600 and now is selling. Will it be the same for the new Puegeot Maxi's I wonder?

Peugeot got it right with the Ludix range of scooters about 7 years ago i.e start with a cheap as chips base model then add a few styling bits & bobs to cater for all tastes. Their cheapest scooter is basically a Baotian costing 2 or 3 hundred quid more so who's going to pay extra for a Pug badge apart from JohnP? ;)

None of their cheaper scooters stand out from the crowd anymore. I don't think the Speedfight sells particularly well to the yoofs as I've hardly seen any about where as go back 6 or 7 years and every tracksuited chav had one.

They are still deeply fashionable up here...though I haven't seen a new one for years. All the yoof round here buy ancient battered ones and knacker them until they are 17 and get a car and sell the Speedfight onto next year's 16 year olds!

Britain's best-selling 50cc scooter costs less than the average comprehensive insurance policy! Peugeot's V-Clic was the UK's top selling 50cc scooter during August and it is currently on offer at £929. The latest figures from the AA's British Insurance Premium Index show that the average cost of a comprehensive insurance policy has risen by 4.3% to £1034. So you can buy a scooter for less than it costs to insure your car!

V-Clic is the re-badged Baotian. Seems that people do value the badge.

the only one round here is the dodgy bike garagees one he lends you when yours has to stay in

chavs all seem to have zips

except one who has a malguti phantom in yellow like my first scoot and when he gets to 17 we will swap my zip for his malaguti

I think Peugeot sell more v-clic scooters than baotain or lexmoto plus scout is there dealer network is much larger than the others.
