The 2013 Burgman (again).

Post by MrGrumpy »

Little 30secs video on the new 650 Burgman. The luggage space under the seat has shrunk!!!

Whilst it used to be a flat floored cavern, its now split into a front and back half. OK its still big and will still take take 2 helmets, but why the hell have they done that? That was its best feature!!

They have slimmed down the rear seat width as the short legged pillions could not easily flat foot the boards. My wife is one such person and ended up with 3 weeks of bad back and hip issues and will now not get back on. I may buy the pillion extensions from Japan http://japan.webike.net/products/1566302.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, cheaper than a new 2013 model but Suzuki UK accessories now sell these at a whopping £163! http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/accessories/ ... oad&search" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;[range]=on_burgman,on_burgman_uh&search[model]=&search[year]=&search[keyword]=&offset=0&range=burgman

Have a word with Lyn aka Kayz1, he had a big burger before the ugly scoot and had made and fitted platforms for his better half because she had trouble reaching the pillion rests.

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.

As Vossa said, i made some exts for Pat for the same reason, i ended up with a Honda Ugly scoot cos she still had issues with her left hip because of the width of the rear seat.
Will doa pic tomorrow for you, about 25mm higher than standard the rubber mats push in just like the standard boards,,remove two bolts drop bolts into tubes and screw in.
Black so almost disappear when fitted.
Lyn.

The 2013 Burgman seems to have shrunk everywhere in general, it looked smaller at the NEC and felt more cramped too.

Well the ABS unit is 15% lighter isn't it

Oh and it's price hasn't shrunk. At 9 grand the gap is quite close to the BMW which although an unknown reliability quantity is more powerful and modern with no scary "lifetime" belt to worry about.

Hmmm so we have the Burger with its CVT drive belt thats supposed to last for ever, but if it fails its a nightmare, vs the BMW and the TMax where you have to shell out for a new belt every (presumably) 12000 miles. On the other hand, for final drives, the Burger has its gears and the BMW has a wet-chain, both probably won't need replacing ever, whilst the mk4 Tmax final drive belt 'should' last the life of the scoot if it doesn't get damaged! Interesting choices! The Burger ought to be the best choice unless it goes wrong! At least the new Tmax final drive belt should be relatively easy to replace if it does fail....don't want to know how much it'd cost to buy one though!

If any wants a test ride, Suzuki are touring the dealers with a test ride event, including the new Burger 650 (not all dealers will have all bikes).

See http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/promo/000444/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details.
