Hardly news, the position on what constitutes manual or automatic has been the same for decades.

I've been riding my Mana on an auto licence for nearly 18 month now.

You may even find a 1970’s Honda CB400A Auto or Moto Guzzi V1000 Convert gathering dust somewhere. If you want to ride bikes just make the effort and get a Full Licence on a motorcycle with a clutch.
Not everyone likes the clutch y'know, specially in heavy stop start traffic.

Changing the subject slightly, I have a full auto license, would I be allowed to ride a 125 geared bike if I put L plates on it or would I have to take my CBT again on a bike with gears?

Yes you can ride a 125 manual bike with L plates, no need to do a CBT.

Ah the clutch lever. I get the Guzzi out next week with its heavy clutch lever, I don't miss that during the winter months on the scoot, I'll admit.

Glad I passed my test on a manual though, I can get that silly bike out when the sun is out in the summer if I want (which is why it did less than 1000 miles last year).

I've no intention of riding a geared bike period so having this info is helpful when selecting my next machine, geared bikes aren't for everyone!

Wouldn't it be nice to express opinions without certain people slamming every remark as they obviously know better! Get over yourself!

when riding a geared bike its an
automatic reflex changing gear,,
its not rocket science , dont know what all the fuss is about,i for one would not want to ride a big motorbike thats got auto gears
