Hardly news, the position on what constitutes manual or automatic has been the same for decades.

I've been riding my Mana on an auto licence for nearly 18 month now.

Not everyone likes the clutch y'know, specially in heavy stop start traffic.Meldrew wrote:If you want to ride motorcycles on an Auto Licence you're limited to the four DCT Hondas, Yamaha FJR 1300S, and the Mana. You may even find a 1970’s Honda CB400A Auto or Moto Guzzi V1000 Convert gathering dust somewhere. If you want to ride bikes just make the effort and get a Full Licence on a motorcycle with a clutch.
Have to agree weith you for a change gn2. The news here is Dobles have learned to readgn2 wrote:Hardly news, the position on what constitutes manual or automatic has been the same for decades.

Changing the subject slightly, I have a full auto license, would I be allowed to ride a 125 geared bike if I put L plates on it or would I have to take my CBT again on a bike with gears?

Yes you can ride a 125 manual bike with L plates, no need to do a CBT.basil 69 wrote:Changing the subject slightly, I have a full auto license, would I be allowed to ride a 125 geared bike if I put L plates on it or would I have to take my CBT again on a bike with gears?

Ah the clutch lever. I get the Guzzi out next week with its heavy clutch lever, I don't miss that during the winter months on the scoot, I'll admit.
Glad I passed my test on a manual though, I can get that silly bike out when the sun is out in the summer if I want (which is why it did less than 1000 miles last year).

I've no intention of riding a geared bike period so having this info is helpful when selecting my next machine, geared bikes aren't for everyone!

Wouldn't it be nice to express opinions without certain people slamming every remark as they obviously know better! Get over yourself!
