Re: Time for a rethink.
This months Scootering magazine has an article about matching up a 1970`s Lambretta red paint, and a Scunthorpe company called Humberside Paint and Products was able to mix up a very good match. I have used them in the past, and they are very helpful. Might be worth a try before you commit to a full respray.

Re: Time for a rethink.
Matching the paint colour isn't the problem it's the amount of metallic in the paint.

The paint code is 79/A Graphite Black. Been to four auto paint shops and not one can help.
They can find the code on their systems but no mixing data. Phoned the dealer no help
what so ever . Sent an email to Piaggio UK who eventually sent me another code
GE2-9350 and guess what paint shops can't even find it on their systems.
So looking like a complete repaint. Ferrari Rossa maybe?
Most automotive motor factors who deal in bodyshop supplies will have a camera these days (I'm not talking ordinary camera). If you can leave a small panel with them they should be able to match the colour.

Re: Time for a rethink.
Finally decided to go for the repaint,so the first question was what colour?
Usually you get a choice when you buy a new machine and more often you
get what's on offer.I gave myself a week of looking around at what was on
the road, pick something I like and then go for it.
Something I've never really noticed before was how unimaginative and
uninspiring the colour of the majority of cars are,you have silver, black,
red,white,and?
So after a week I've decided, just hope my spraying skills are up to it.
No it's not Camo.
