Has anybody ever had to get a replacement coded key for the SAIS system ?
The bike I have just got has only one key.
I would like to get another if possible in case of loss.
The only info I have is the bike details Vin no. Reg No. etc
Any info on how to proceed etc
Cheers
Barry
PS: I have contacted Suzuki GB but no response yet.

Re: Replacement key for SAIS System
If the previous own was responsible and you have the bikes handbook, then the key number may be listed in the section about the ignition system. There is a box to list it. If not then go to any Suzy dealer and they can identify the key without too much trouble and provide a key and encode it. They may well end up just cutting you a new one from your existing one after ordering the correct blank with the chip in it. Encoding is easy.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Replacement key for SAIS System
Thanks Data
I have already done that and they all just looked dumb!
Finally they told me I have to order the correct key from Suzuki as they can't encode the blanks.
They can't tell me what key to order.
I might even have to buy a full new system???
My bike is a cat d write off so apart from the bike and one key I don't have any other info.
I don't have the books and there is no number on the key it's self!

Re: Replacement key for SAIS System
Right, that's sort of strange that the dealer cannot help I would have thought. Anyhoo, another option would be contact Suzuki Customer service on: 0500 011959. They will know what to do. Normally you'd quote them your key number and they cut the key to code and then put the chip encoding in. Without the key code they may only be able to cut it from pattern. That would mean giving/posting them your key or taking it to them. It's worth noting any good large locksmith firm can supply a chipped key blank and cut a key, but may not be able to encode it. Some can encode it, you'd have to dig around to do it that way. Try Suzy first.
