A dealer has put prices on their website. No mention of ABS option though.

For reference, Kymco list the Downtown 300 (no ABS) at £3999.
This Kym-Kwak (?) could just be my next scooter.

Re: Kawasaki J300
Seems a good price to me.
Down this way a lot of SYM dealers were tacked onto Kawasaki dealerships because they weren't in direct competition. Now that's changing...
Kymco seem to have applied some of the "Art of War" strategies - attributed to Sun Tzu - for their commercial advantage here in the UK.
If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative.

Any idea what you get for your extra £200 in the 'SE' model?? I must admit I like the idea of the scoot, though buying a new one for my commute would be rather extravagant.StephenC wrote:A dealer has put prices on their website. No mention of ABS option though.

Essential as it's a Kawasaki. (well, badged as one ). The silver and black ones are too plain and so you might as well get the Kymco original (if they offer ABS on the Downtown, that is).

You have to admit, the Kawasaki will have a certain coolness to it that a Sym or Kymco won't.

True. I imagine the Kawaski name will keep used prices a little higher too.

Mystique is the word I guess - the idea that somewhere deep within a humble commuter scoot, something of the DNA of a ZX10R may exist - even if its biological parents were actually Kymco, and Kawasaki adopted it!Ginger Phil wrote:You have to admit, the Kawasaki will have a certain coolness to it that a Sym or Kymco won't.
There again, some diehard Kawasaki owners are probably choking on their pints and considering selling their sportsbikes as their brand has now been 'contaminated' by them selling a scooter!
